Filippo and Maria Casella migrated to Australia in the early 1950s. Both arrived with the typical immigrant's vision of a better life for themselves and a secure future for their children in their chosen land. The Casellas brought with them the skills obtained from generations of grape growing in rural Italy, skills which would secure them the future in Australia that they covered.

Filippo began as an itinerant worker between North Queensland cane fields and fruit picking in the Riverina region of New South Wales. He saw the potential of the area and diversity of agriculture and, in 1965, purchased Farm 1471 at Yenda, just outside Griffith. Filippo established a winery in 1969, feeling it was a way to add value to the grapes he was producing and selling to local wineries.

In 1994, John Casella, son of Filippo and Maria returned to the family winery and embarked upon an expansion program which continues today. The heritage of Old World individuality and New World technology has created some of Australia's finest wines. Attention to detail with fruit from our own vineyards plays a significant part in the success of Casella wines.

Reisling

Immediately hits you with zesty lemon and lime aromas. This light, refreshing Riesling will leap from your glass and you may even catch a hint of orange blossom. Luscious and lively, bursting with fresh fruit and subtle cinnamon undertones, this wine is full of flavour.

Sauvignon Blanc

Pale straw in colour with vibrant citrus, passionfruit and fresh grassy scents on the nose and a tantalizing palate of limes, tropical fruit and green apples. The lengthy finish shows good depth of flavour with crisp, refreshing acidity.

Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc

A perfect partnership of two great grapes. The Semillon provides fresh grassy and lemon aromas while the Sauvignon Blanc adds tropical fruits and herbaceous notes. This wine is crisp and refreshing to enliven your senses.

Pinot Grigio

A delightfully fresh, zesty and elegant with lots of super-ripe concentrated fruit. This wine has lifted aromas of citrus fruits with delicate notes of green apples and pears.

Chardonnay

A distinctive nose that leaps from the glass and displays a lovely tropical fruit aroma. The wine has a rich creamy finish while being silky smooth and easy to drink.

Rose

Leaps from your glass with a lifted bouquet of fresh strawberries and spice. The aromas dance onto the vibrant, bright palate, swirling between sweet red cherry flavours and a little Aussie sparkle.

Pinot Noir

Leaps from your glass with aromas of coffee, chocolate and ripe raspberries. Great berry fruits and spicy oak on the nose are enhanced by underlying dark cherry and cigar box aromas. Superb structure and finely textured tannins make this wine soft on the palate.

Merlot

Jumps from the glass with ripe plum aromas and a touch of that typical Aussie spice. Soft tannins complement the ripe fruit flavours and deliver a fine fruit-driven wine which is rich, soft and simply delicious.

Shiraz-Grenache

Peppery Shiraz jumps from the glass, complementing the upfront raspberry flavours of the Grenache. The two varieties come together in a balanced wine displaying earthy tones, lush raspberries and a touch of spice.

Shiraz

A vibrant, deep purple in colour, leading to a nose of lifted berry aromas with spicy notes. The full-bodied palate shows generous, ripe fruit characters with underlying earthy tones and lingering sweet berry flavours.

Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

Combines the blackberry aromas of the Cabernet Sauvignon with the ripe fruit flavours of the Merlot, creating a truly Australian blend of spice and sweetness.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Leaps from the glass with a touch of mint and aromas of blackberries, chocolate and vanilla. The seamless structure shows rich berry flavours, peppered with spice.

Reserve Chardonnay

A complex array of fragrant fruit aromas and attractive vanillin oak scents offer a great introduction. The palate is fresh and vibrant with melon, peach and tropical fruit flavours balanced with fine citrus acid and oak, which add to the overall complexity.

Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Embodies the essence of all great Australian reds. Aromas of ripe, black cherries, mint and oak reward the senses while velvety smooth tannins provide excellent structure and length to this complex, elegant wine.

Reserve Shiraz

Vibrant, ripe and gorgeous - a drop that is big on flavour and deep in colour with an intense aroma. It has delicious concentrated cherry and blackberry flavours with hints of classic cracked pepper spice. These flavours are complimented by vanilla softness and well structured tannins.
