Black Sheep Brewery

Located in Masham in North Yorkshire, produces three products that are sold internationally. The Black Sheep Brewery is a totally independent business, set up by Paul Theakston, the fifth generation of Marsham's famous brewing family. The brewery sells to over 700 pubs as well as to major supermarkets and independent retailers, and won the 2001 Brewer of the Year award from The Good Pub Guide.

Riggwelter Ale

Black Sheep Ale is the flagship brand of the company. A clean drinking beer with a creamy head. Brewed with generous amounts of whole Goldings Hops and Maris Otter barley. A full flavoured ale with a rich fruity nose. Bittersweet malty taste followed by a long dry finish.

Riggwelter Strong Yorkshire Ale is full flavoured, using the unusual Yorkshire Square fermentation system, (large Welsh slate fermenting vessels). Well balanced with a deep chestnut colour with distinctive roast malt, Golden Hops and banana fruit aromas.

Monty Python Holy Grail, specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Monty Python comedy troupe. Full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.
