Compass Box Whisky Company
Compass Box, founded by whisky blender John Glaser, is a specialist Scotch whisky company, devoted to making some of Scotland's premier whiskies through the art of blending. The company chooses individual casks of whisky from different distilleries that offer complementary sets of flavours, and carefully blend these casks in small batches to make proprietary whiskies. A range of types of Scotch whisky are bottled: malt, grain, and malt and grain blends, but at the core of everything is a desire to bring out a purity of flavour, a richness, a drinking experience that will call you back to the glass. Compass Box whiskies have unusual names like The Peat Monster and Hedonism, and its labels are contemporary in style. It's all part of the company's vision: taking a contemporary approach to a traditional product.

Compass Box The Peat Monster malt Scotch whisky has a big peaty, smoky nose reminiscent of bonfires by the sea. Balanced on the palate by rich, malty and earthy components, it has a smoky finish that (seemingly) never stops. Lead distilleries are Ardmore and Caol Ila, both aged between 10 and 15 years - all single malts. A vatted malt is made by marrying 100 per cent single malts from different distilleries.
Asyla blended Scotch whisky is sweet, delicate and very smooth on the palate, with flavours of vanilla-cream, cereals, and sweet oakiness. Deliciously soft and creamy, it is a combination of three single malts and two single-grain whiskies: Cragganmore, Glen Elgin, Linkwood, Cambus, and Cameronbridge, all aged between 11 and 12 years.
Oak Cross malt Scotch whisky has a soft palate, with flavour notes of clove and vanilla, accenting a sweet maltiness and subtle fruit character. It is medium weight, with a long finish echoing hints of vanilla and clove. It is made entirely of Highland single malts, led by Teaninich, and balanced with malts from other distilleries in Brora and Carron, all aged 10 years.
